Okay so, today was freakin' FANTASTIC.
I haven't had a brilliant day like this for ages and I'm so full of glee right now! I'll have to make this a quick journal because I'm gonna go to bed soon, so I'll sum up today's awesome bits in bullets.
I went to the zoo! I went with some dudes from college and we had an awesome time, even if I was forced to stand still in the batcave when all I really wanted to do was get out of there!
I went to TokyoPop ReCon in Liverpool! Nick - the guy who was hosting it - recognised us from last night (because we went to a ReCon in Chester last night too) and was really awesome to us.
I won first place in the art contest at ReCon!

- and I got so many compliments on it! Nick also said he wanted to keep it and he ended up taking a photograph of it before I took it home, I think. I also got a huge cheer when I went up to collect my prize - I'd guess they'd probably do that for anyone who won but it was still a great feeling!

Crazedteensieofdoom) won 1st place in the cosplay contest! I was cosplaying as Simca and Cat was cosplaying as Ringo, both from
Air Gear. I didn't expect to win (I honestly thought that the Kero cosplayer there was going to win), but it was such a nice surprise when we did! Also, the Kero cosplayer was so lovely after the contest; she kept congratulating me and saying well done.
I'm just sorry I didn't catch her name!
I met someone I knew from here on deviantART at ReCon! All night I kept seeing this girl walking around, and I kept thinking "...is it her?". Eventually I plucked up the courage to tap her on the shoulder and say "Excuse me, is your name Hannah?". Turns out I was right; I'd just met *
Papiyon and she actually remembered who I was when I told her my deviantART name!
Hannah was so lovely and sweet; when she hugged me for that photo she said I was so tall and so beautiful!
The only bad thing to happen today was the fact that I got some nasty comments from some rather ignorant people. But oh well, fuck them! The good parts of today have definitely outweighed the bad, and that's how it should always be.
